I wonder what our mailman thinks of us?  On Monday, T's industrial powered stainless steel super-duper wheat grass juicer arrived.  Now this.

Seven Things

It is tagging time.  Marirosa tagged "Carrie" and I asked "Carrie Who", but she's moving at the speed of sound as usual and didn't answer.  So I'm taking it.

1. My Love Language is Gifts.  I've tried to make it Acts of Service, or Quality Time or something less materialistic but I can't.  I like gifts.  Cash works too.

2. I could live in IKEA.  I love those little rooms and multitasking pieces. I always come out there feeling inspired.  I like Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma too, but I come out of there feeling frustrated. Maybe it is because most of IKEA's prices are within my reach.  My husband says I should have outgrown IKEA by  now.  He hates the place.

3.  I'm secretly thinking of giving up my downstairs office to my near-tween daughter who is desperate for her own room.  I don't want to give it up, but if I did, I could get one of these.  Though I realize I after the rush of moving into it, I would want my office back.  I have doors now.

4. I don't know if I'll ever finish a book again.

5.  I detest feeling bundled up.  I can't wear turtlenecks and the idea of layers, while appealing, just doesn't work for me.  I don't need the extra bulk and I get anxious if I feel too confined.  This is a big reason I will probably never live in cold climate.

6.  I hope to someday live internationally again.  Italy sounds good.

7.  I wake up most days with at least one kid in our bed.  This morning it was two.  I'd be tempted to move down from a Cal-King to a twin if the kids would stay out.  But they wouldn't.

1. Yesterday I was hot and sweaty and tired and sick of looking at summer vacation clutter and my dirty car.

2. Today I am going to finish washing that car, wash my floors and clean the downstairs.

3. Tomorrow I will spend all day running around hiding clues for J's birthday treasure hunt on Sunday.  Maybe I'll start P's Hawaii scrapbook tomorrow night.

4. Someday I'm going to look at my freshly washed windows, floors and mirrors and not see little hand and footprints  all over.

5. I will never say never.

6. I might just buy some paint and start on a room soon.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I am looking forward to  a poolside dinner party (with tablecloths) at my neighbors home.  Tomorrow my plans include planning J's birthday treasure hunt and scrapbooking and Sunday I want to sleep in!

The Big Girls Candy Shoppe

Do you have a favorite boutique? You know, the kind of shoppe that just makes you feel happy and makes you want to linger?  The kind of shoppe that is soothing, yet inspiring, calming, yet creativly renewing?  Maybe it smells nice (like a favorite bath shoppe) or maybe the color and textures call to you and ask to be touched.  I have a couple of special boutiques that send me out the door slightly different from when I walked in.  I love those boutiques.  Well, my friends, check this out: By Design Scrapbook Boutique

I used to joke that if my home ever burned to the ground, or my family up and left me and I needed to find new digs, I'd just get me a trailer and set up camp in the Target parking lot.  I mean, after all, Target has everything in the world I could ever need to live, right?

After seeing this store, I think my new plan is to get me that Airstream trailer and haul it to Houston, Texas to live in their parking lot.   I'd work my way out of my funk by visiting this pretty little place daily. 

...and surely they are near a Target, right?
